Lights
No matter where she goes, there will be a blanket of twinkling lights to follow along the walls. Some hanging as you see from the ceiling above, dancing over her like stars she can touch. There is a place by the door that holds the key to the settings, all of them will change to whatever she fits, from fading in and out, blinking at different intervals, or just leaving them on or off. (9 settings in total)
Eat me / Drink me
In the kitchen, decorated sugar cookies as well as chocolate chip cookies were left as shown with a note written by Ian saying Eat me, and the tea bag tree is full of seasonal teas had a note from Nir saying Drink me. Scribbles were on both notes, from Joie. No plates were harmed at this time. Settled in the fridge.
There were days she would be more than happy to sit back and not let her presence be known. Allowing them to play without noticing her, throwing a toy back and forth, catch and throw, catch and throw. The way she barrelled for the toy and he simply praised her, treating Jax in the only way she's ever known. Even with his own distaste for the idea of having children, it makes her wonder if he realizes how much he's changed and how much of a father he already seems to be. How much he rounded them both out, given how she had both of them in her life nearly the same amount of time. A complete little family.
A gift
A soft, knit blanket sits at the foot of her bed draped over the end of it. Three well placed cards on top of it. One made by each. Joie scribbled all the colors from her crayon box all over it. Nir drew this, it's folded, opening to: we miss you. this is what happens when you're gone. please help. Ian left this with the inside reading: Or now you do because we baked. Your dishes are safe. We love you but you're taking too long. Get back soon. This also found at her bedside.
New Ornaments
The kids made salt dough ornaments, some painted, some not, but all with a glaze and their name behind it in the best they could do. Both giving a set of handprinted ones too. Each tied by a red ribbon and found not on the tree but in places the kids thought they would look nice or where they have a happy memory. Expect at least one stocking one though, to be in her sock drawer.
To relax
In the bathroom, at the sink where ever is closest to the bathtub is a box of peppermint bath supplies, full of bath salts, creams, lotions, room spray, and candles with a flashy bow on each item awaits her. A note stating: Use at own risk. He is joking.
Handpainted by all, set up by 2, a fake fireplace craft as big as Joie herself. All made of cardboard. It is in her bedroom near a wal so that she can see it from where she sleeps, but out of the way as to not stumble over it for any reason.
Extra Tabletop Decor
Simple things like scented pine cones with fairy lights in glass bowls and vases, elf pinecones (created by all, including a set with each of their faces on it. Both kids, Ian's, and Shanii's), and wine cork angels that he will never admit to where he got all the corks from.
Windows
All windows have snowflake clings attached to them. If she had anything covering her windows it was replaced with a set of these. Different colors for different rooms (red, blue, green, brown) but the same snowflake theme. They are blockout curtains. Anything she had would have been washed and placed in her bedroom closet a little too nicely.
Pillows and bows
All pillows in her place, whether decorative or not, are now wrapped in a christmasy ribbon with a sprig of some sort attached to it. Some bows better than others, some pull or fall right apart when moved. A few of them are completely velcro because someone has no idea how to tie yet.
